The Academy has been created to bring new dance and theatre opportunities to Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.
Within the next year, the KFR Academy hopes to be teaching dance in many styles including Zumba, Ballet, Adult Tap and creating theatrical opportunities for children, teenagers and adults in the forms of plays, musicals and vocal concerts.
Founder and teacher Katie has been a dancer since the age of 5 studying classical ballet, tap, modern theatre and jazz at Dragonfly Dance Centre in Stafford.
As a performer her recent credits include; Romeo & Juliet (dance captain) with Stafford Festival Shakespeare, Peggy Sawyer in "42nd Street" with Stafford Operatic Society, Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors" with Theatre Ingestre, Alexandra in "Unaccommodated" with Opus Theatre Company, Cinderella and Mother Goose with Stafford Gatehouse Theatre (dance captain) and Twelfth Night with Stafford Festival Shakespeare (dance captain).
Katie made her professional choreographic West End debut in 2010 with 'Without a Paddle' Productions at the Jermyn Street Theatre and recently choreographed "Oliver!" for Stafford District Operatic Society to a sell out audience and "Bouncers" for MiG Productions.
Katie is in her final months of training with the Royal Academy of Dance in classical ballet and is a dance teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and a qualified Zumba instructor, including Zumba Gold and Zumbatonic.
Katie was extremely excited to open The KFR Academy in Stafford in September 2011 and hopes it can bring many new dance and theatre opportunities to Staffordshire and the surrounding areas.

ZUMBATOMIC® is a fun fitness program designed especially for kids aged 4 - 12 years.
It combines high energy with the ZUMBA® program's rhythms (salsa, cumbia, reggaeton,
merengue etc.) and games to provide a safe, effective and fun workout.
There's an emphasis on what is developmentally appropriate for kids
(a 4 year old can't physically do everything a 12 year old can!),
so ZUMBATOMIC® classes are usually split into two main groups.
Lil Starz classes are for kids aged 4 - 8 years while Big Starz is for kids aged 8 - 12 years.
